Academics

At Nakivubo Primary School, we are committed to providing a strong academic foundation from nursery through to Primary Seven. Our curriculum is designed to nurture early childhood development in the nursery section and progressively build essential skills in literacy, numeracy, science, and life skills throughout the primary levels. With a dedicated team of qualified teachers, we aim to create a supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning in every pupil.

Teaching methodology

The school uses the child-centred approach whereby children learn practically through touching, feeling, doing, observing, experimenting, excursions, while using our home environment and even beyond through educational tours.

The school handles both curricular and extracurricular activities to build a child as a whole

Much emphasis is put on these two core aspects of life, whereby even other skills like co-operation, discipline, sense of responsibility and brotherhood are catered for

The nursery section uses the Nursery framework which also emphasizes play.

More to that, P.1-P.3 takes on the thematic curriculum catering for the subjects like mathematics, English, literacy 1, literacy 2, religious education, music, news, oral literature and physical education, art and crafts.

The transition class is P.4, further on, P.5 –P.7 offers English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, music, art and crafts and Religious Education.
